The S4-3.2 R is the first circular knitting machine in the world to enable knitting of fashionable striped fabrics with up to 3 colours and over 3.2 feeders/inch. This means that 3-colour striped fabrics can, for the first time, be manufactured using all feeders (e.g. 108 feeders for a cylinder diameter of 34 inches) and achieving a maximum degree of productivity. The MCT striping technique, a method that has proved its worth in thousands of applications, has been developed further by Mayer & Cie. for this purpose and the new system registered for patent. These striping machines also employ the ingenious and absolutely reliable mechanical function sequence, reducing the maintenance outlay to a minimum. The S4-3.2 R can knit up to 6 colours over 1.6 feeders/inch. All in all, the best prerequisites for the manufacture of fashionable striped fabrics of the finest quality and the achievement of maximum productivity.
Flexibility plus productivity
Exemplary flexibility is also retained: non-knit striping feeders can be easily replaced with knitting feeders, speedily making 3.2 feeders per inch available for single jersey basic knits. A machine for fashionable striped fabrics and high output, both for single jersey without striping in 2 and 4 needle structures and single jersey plating! Up to 4 needle types for each of 3 needle positions ensure a broad structure range.
Simple to operate, easy to maintain.
The S4-3.2 R is designed through and through for productivity. The required needles and sinkers are standard knitting elements used the world over. The sinker cams are designed as single elements. One cam segment per feeder helps simplify the exchange of sinkers.
Choice of open width frames.
For crease-free production, especially with modern synthetic yarns, Mayer & Cie. offers special open width frames for the S4 machines. With the "Made in Germany" version, the fabric width can be adjusted individually on a scale, and previous orders can be reproduced at any time. The Asian version without the adjustable triangle has successfully been tested in practice. Both open width frames can be converted to tubular deflection winding.
Fabric takedown as deflection winder or folding device.
The fabric takedown, featuring a deflection winder mechanism and MCT trapezoidal spreader, is designed for fabric bales of up to 480 mm in diameter. A folding device is offered as an optional extra.
"Quick-Change" for fast, simple gauge conversion.
S4-3.2 R is equipped with a new version of the "Quick-Change" gauge conversion. This facilitates a gauge conversion considerably and thus leads to shorter down times. A support frame for "Quick-Change" is no longer required.
