Model : TBY 1 - Taper Board Yarn Examiner This taper board inspection machine has been designed for tracing and making visible yarn irregularities and cuts recurring at regular intervals. It offers important advantages over the ordinary parallel-edged black inspection boards which give an entirely wrong picture whenever the circumference of the board coincides with an odd multiple of half the distance between two irregularity spots. In the latter case the yarn would be laid on the inspection board in such a way that a thick spot is placed by the side of a thin spot which would create the impression of the yarn being of even diameter throughout. When using a taper board, however, cuts and irregular places recurring at even intervals are bound to show up at least in one place. The distance between the cuts can be measured with accuracy, which affords a safe method for tracing the causes of yarn unevenness. A special feature of the yarn examiner is that various yarn spacing ( pitch ) and variable speeds can be obtained. It also has an automatic stop motion fitted. One black and one white inspection board are supplied with each machine. Extra boards can be supplied upon request.
