The DReAM becomes reality. DReAM, a revolutionary new digital textile printing machine, increases printing speed more than 10-fold from 10-20 square meters to a maximum of 150 square meters per hour. The DReAM, recently presented by Reggiani Macchine S.p.A., Aprion Digital and Ciba Specialty Chemicals, meets the growing need in the fashion industry for medium runs and faster times to market. The new printing machine is suitable for all textile applications, particularly high fashion items.



The DReAM features two unique innovations: firstly, it combines Reggiani’s well-known substrate-conveying system, which holds the fabric accurately in position, with Aprion’s MAGIC six-color inkjet heads; secondly, it uses completely novel printing inks, developed especially by Ciba Specialty Chemicals for the new high-speed system.



The new industrial machine, designed for fabrics of up to 1.6 meters in width, made its debut at Reggiani’s facility in Bergamo, Italy in December 2002 and is scheduled to be fully commercialized in 2003, following extensive customer trials at Reggiani.
