Singeing Machines & Ranges:
The Universal Singeing Machine is a special variant of the Parex Mather
singe unit specially developed for singeing open width knitted fabrics as well
as woven fabrics.
The Universal’ has internal driven rollers to draw the fabric through the
machine, both draw rollers are water cooled.
The burners are arranged to singe the fabric whilst it is supported on draw
rollers resulting in one singe being given to each face of the fabric. To open
the fabric, two full width driven scroll rollers are fitted at the machine entry
immediately before the first draw roller. Any sparks carried through by the
fabric are extinguished by a short steaming unit on the exit.
Where fabric production is of both woven and knitted types and production
levels do not justify two dedicated ranges, then the Universal singe unit can
provide a versatile processing solution for both types of fabric.
Machine technology:
Burner Technology
Parex Mather machines use two direct flame burners with a live flame impinging
directly onto the fabric surface. This is the most efficient method as well as
the most economical in terms of fuel consumption.
The specially developed burner bodies with unique internal construction
guarantee uniformity of the singeing flame across the full burner width. This is
proven for all flame widths up to 14 metres.
The twin crossed flame effect ensures uniformity of treatment to the fabric
Each burner has controls to match the flame width the fabric width, energy is
then not wasted outside the fabric width.
Burners can be supplied for Natural Gas, LPG, Butane, Propane and Petrol (
Gasoline ) firing.
Machine Threading:
The unique threading of the machine forms a singeing pocket over each burner
whose size can be varied by adjustment of the upper rollers ‘A’.By this
means a wide variety of running configurations can meet all production and
fabric needs.
Varying the threading and selection of number of burners in operation, the
fabric can receive in one pass through the machine:-
2 singes on the face and 2 on the reverse 1 singe on the face and 1 on the
reverse
4 singes on the face or reverse only 1 singe on the face or reverse only
Each burner is adjustable between two singeing positions depending on the fabric
to be singed.
A vertical burner positionl is suitable for the majority of medium to heavy
weight fabrics, particularly those containing natural fibres where direct
singeing is required,
Light weight or more sensitive fabrics treated with the burner tilted to operate
against a water cooled roller to prevent the flame passing through the fabric
